Are you ready to pitch your startup and secure $1000? Whether you’re just getting started, gaining traction or scaling up, we want to hear from you.
Thanks to the generous support of Payments Consulting Network, we’re awarding three seed funding pools of $1000 each – one for each of the following categories:
- Pre-Revenue: You’ve got the idea and the drive, but you haven’t generated income yet.
- Growth Stage: You’re earning revenue, but under $100 000 to date.
- Scale Stage: You’re making moves and building momentum, with revenue over $100 000.
Entries will be carefully assessed by our panel of established founders & professionals.
Entries are open to folks of South Asian heritage (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) who identify as women.
Attendees of Build Your Side Hustle workshop on 9 May will be highly regarded.

Do I need to have a business / side hustle started?
Nope it’s for all stages, even if you’re early and just curious about a side hustle but haven’t started.
Will it be practical?
YES, we read all the feedback from the founders & creatives events we held earlier and there was a strong desire for hands on, practical, deep dive – this workshop is a direct result of that feedback. It’s not just about getting inspired, but now acquiring the skills + network to start taking action.
Who is the $1000 funding for?
As long as your South Asian and identify as a woman & currently in Australia, you can apply. There are 3 stages – pre revenue (ie you just have an idea), growth (under 100k revenue) and scaling (over 100k). We’ll profile all the winners across our socials too. You do not have to be a citizen.
This funding has come about thanks to a generous ally donor who wants to support more South Asian women in business.
Do I have to attend the workshop to apply for the funding?
It’s highly recommended and those who attend will be highly regarded, however you can still apply if you cant make the workshops. The workshop will give you the time , space & support to start constructing your pitch / answers to the application in a supportive environment rather than doing it solo.
