Empowering South Asian Australian Women

Since being founded in August 2018 we’ve host a range of events from community celebrations, workshops, comedy shows and meet ups.

We’re extremely conscientious about the programs we offer, ensuring that they focus on the needs of our community and are impact driven. We always want to make sure there’s value in what we do. We’re so proud of all that we’ve managed to curate as a small volunteer run organisation.

Want to be a part of our community?

We’re a powerful network of South Asian women determined to make a difference through entrepreneurship, creativity and leadership. We lead with purpose. We’re here for you. For support. To listen.

Our Past Programs

Brown Women Comedy

Melbourne’s first comedy show featuring a line up of South Asian female comedians. Both shows were sold out a week in advance.

If we look at the comedy scene in Australia and around the world, we can see that there is a glaring absence of brown women, even when there is no dearth of talented female comedians. Hence the idea of a brown women comedy night was born at ASAC.

Stay tuned for Brown Women Comedy to return at Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival 2023.

Holi Festival 2022

With all the challenges and uncertainty of the last year, there’s no better way to let loose and have fun than with a splash of colour.

Our Holi festival had stalls featuring goodies by South Asian women, cultural performances, games and music. This event was funded by the Victorian Governement.

Australian Indian Digital Creative Festival

Showcasing young leaders and creatives in India and Australia across multiple sectors such as leadership, advocacy, poetry, TV & Film and writing from March to July 2021.

Guest Speakers included Saloni Chopra, Moose Jattana, Sushi Das, Leah Vandenberg and Balli Kaur Jaswal. This program was funded by the Australia India Youth Dialogue.
